The following are some examples I use in a Step 1 verbally, or a Step 2, when Management is doing something extremely stupid. This can be playing with fire as it is insulting.
For Example, Page 287 Addresses Two Track Discipline as an element of ‘Progressive Discipline.’ When Management does something so stupid it defies logic, such as combining Conduct and Attendance, I have printed and handed over the relevant pages and explained that “Look, everyone knows this is how an Arbitrator will rule.”
This works only when Management is not the person who makes the decision. Such as Labor Relations typing up the Discipline, or a Step 2 Official not being involved in the process.
